So I realized that I end up being super hype about CID and tend to be the one who brings it back to the forum, and so I'm just going to consolidate it in one place.
They are currently testing (and I hope it goes through) allowing one mercenary model/unit (and it's battle group) per theme list, as a way to diversify the lists a little bit, and bring back some of that good merc feel. What do people think? And what mercs are you planning on bringing to what themes?

I could see this being crazy with Trencher theme and Alexia. Ragman is always good add for lists that need more damage (trenchers I am looking at you). Eryss will be back in spades. I like the idea I am just not sure if it could potentially make some lists very powerful. Or the crazy fun can you imagine running 2 SS and 1 Meat Thresher?

Actually, I misread it and it is worrisome good, apparently you can take a solo AND a unit AND a battle engine. I am less okay with this. Make me pick between one of the three. Make me choose between Lanyssa and Devil Dogs on my Maddox list. (Somewhere I can hear Snarley just yelling the words 'DEVIL DOGS' at the top of his lungs.)

LOL I have wanted to pick up the Devil Dogs I just have not. They seem so good with Murdoch and Assault. So much still left to buy.

So they put in the CID Dev Talk comments that they didn't feel that Sons of the Tempest would be effected enough to test. I wonder if this isn't the case. That list has always felt like it needed a tar pit/something to get to into combat and keep models from getting to your gun mages. Might this bring Boomhowlers back to Cygnar?

My friend was reviewing the CID and said that he thinks due to the wording that Acosta would take up the Mercenary solo slot. I don't actually have CID access so what are your thoughts?

That is currently how it is working, but it is implied that this might not be the final form of the theme force and is just to make the whole thing consistent across the board. I am of two minds about it, because I liked him thematically always being part of the theme, but I could also see a theme that allows two merc solos and a unit and a battle engine feeling like going back a little to much to the days of merc nar.

I could see that if the theme also made all the Mercs friendly faction. Since its just him I dont see this as a big deal. Even with Jonas and the potential trencher theme making a non character unit friendly faction trencher I could only see taking forge guard for the armor cracking. Maybe the Horgenhold Artillery Corps for those sweet sweet 23 inch assault shot.
